Definition and usage of GLP header and GLP footer / Usage of the EDP mode
The protocol output of the GLP header and the GLP footer, configured here under the system settings, is generally valid for all applications.
The GLP protocol output must be added via the context menu of the application if it is required in the respective application (see below Usage of GLP header and GLP footer in the applications).
Define the GLP Header and the GLP Footer
Depending what you like to define choose the Header or the Footer.
Define the layout
By clicking the [Edit] button an extensive selection of pre-defined text/function items are presented. By selecting them they are moved to the right column. Representing the protocol-layout.
Moving items
The items can be moved by drag & drop functionality.
Deleting items
By selecting the items, they turn to red. Additionally a waste bin is shown in the lower left corner. By selecting the waste bin the selected items is deleted.
Protocol Items
Most of the Items are self-explaining or have a description where those can be defined.
Please note that you have to set the text paragraphs so that they appear in the appropriate place in the log.
Protocol item Text paragraph
This item can be filled with any text. A text can span multiple lines. It can be entered as human readable characters (ABC) or as hexadecimal characters (HEX).
Please note that the hexadecimal characters are only given to the channels RS232 serial port and USB serial port .
Usage of GLP header and GLP footer in the applications
Adding the items GLP header or GLP footer at the context menu Protocol of the desired application:
- Open the layout of the application's header with the [Edit] button
- Add the item GLP header to the application header
Usage of the EDP (Electronic Data Processing) mode
Note concerning balances verified for legal metrology
In verified weighing protocols non-verified digits have to be indicated as such. This is done by putting the concerned digits in brackets.
If the device is connected to an automated system the problem can arise that the connected system is not able to process weighing values which contain brackets - e.g. 100.0[3] g .
Therefore, in the EDP-mode, for all protocols the brackets have been supressed - e.g. 100.03 g. If the EDP-mode is set to on, it's the system operator's responsibility to take appropriate steps or settings on the connected system so that the weighing value is processed correctly.
Restrictions
Note that the alibi storage function is disabled when using EDP mode.
